ஏட்டில் எழுதப்பட்ட வேதத்தின் மீது சத்தியமாக!

and by oath of the night when it covers,
ஒடுங்கிக் கொள்ளும் இரவின் மீது சத்தியமாக-

and by oath of the moon when it follows the sun
(பின்) அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து வரும் சந்திரன் மீதும் சத்தியமாக-

and by oath of the night when it turns back.
இரவின் மீதும் சத்தியமாக - அது பின்னோக்கிச் செல்லும் பொழுது.

and by oath of the earth which flourishes with it.
(தாவரங்கள் முளைப்பதற்குப்) பிளவு படும் பூமியின் மீதும் சத்தியமாக,

and by oath of the groups that read the qur’an.
(நினைவூட்டும்) வேதத்தை ஓதுவோர் மீது சத்தியமாக,

and by oath of the earth and by oath of him who spread it.
பூமியின் மீதும், இன்னும் அதை விரித்ததின் மீதும் சத்தியமாக-

and verily, that is indeed a great oath, if you but know.
நீங்கள் அறீவீர்களாயின் நிச்சயமாக இது மகத்தான் பிரமாணமாகும்.

- which is indeed a great oath if only you knew it -
நீங்கள் அறீவீர்களாயின் நிச்சயமாக இது மகத்தான் பிரமாணமாகும்.

(and that is indeed a mighty oath, did you but know it)
நீங்கள் அறீவீர்களாயின் நிச்சயமாக இது மகத்தான் பிரமாணமாகும்.

and by oath of your forefather ibrahim, and by you – his illustrious son!
பெற்றோர் மீதும், (பெற்ற) சந்ததியின் மீதும் சத்தியமாக,

and indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great.
நீங்கள் அறீவீர்களாயின் நிச்சயமாக இது மகத்தான் பிரமாணமாகும்.
