and when they had cast, moses said: that which ye have brought is magic. lo! allah will make it vain. lo! allah upholdeth not the work of mischief-makers.

akasema: tupeni! basi walipo tupa waliyazuga macho ya watu na wakawatia khofu, na wakaleta uchawi mkubwa.
he said, "throw," and when they threw, they bewitched the eyes of the people and struck terror into them, and they presented a great [feat of] magic.
