based on a field survey at the state university of jakarta on 50 physics education students at the beginning of semester 111 in september 2019, the following data were obtained:  these data indicate that students have not been able to solve fluid mechanics questions containing indicators of creative thinking skills. the score that is still below 50% is due to students who are not trained in creative thinking, are not fluent in answering questions with e-learning and school when answering questions in class because questions cannot be repeated or read again over time. in answering questions related to fluency, students have not been able to respond to problems with initiative thinking. with regard to questions about originality, students' answers are not unique, meaning that students have not been able to generate thoughts and ideas that are different from others. although the answers between students are the same, it still supports that students have different ways of thinking about answering questions. in addition, students also have not been able to provide details of the results obtained as an improvement in solving the given questions. for students who start the work stage by playing (imitation), then learn and innovate (something new). if the problem of low student creative thinking skills is not looking for a solution, then students cannot develop a mindset, are not flexible, have no new ideas, only imitate existing ones, are stiff, and are slow in problems that during the learning process so that they are left behind with educational progress in revolution era 4.0.
