then they debated one with another what they must do, and they kept their counsel secret.
Пас ба якдигар дар кори худ ба машварат пардохтанд. Ва пинҳон розҳо гуфтанд:

those are they from whom we accept the best of what they do, and overlook their evil deeds.
Инҳо касоне ҳастанд, ки корҳои некашонро мепазирем ва аз гуноҳашон дармегузарем.

and all have degrees according to what they do; and your lord is not heedless of what they do.
Барои ҳар як баробари корҳое, ки анҷом додаанд, дараҷотест, ки Парвардигори ту аз он чӣ мекунанд, ғофил нест.

and they will not be denied the reward of whatever good they do; and allah knows the pious.
Ва ҳар кори нек, ки кунанд, ношукрӣ карда нашавад, зеро Худо ба парҳезгорон огоҳ аст!

and allah is ever all-able to do (and also an all-witness to) everything.
Ва Худо нигаҳбон бар ҳар чизест!

they did not restrain one another from the wicked things they used to do; and vile were the things that they were doing!
Аз кори зиште, ки мекарданд, якдигарро манъ намекарданд ва албатта бадкорӣ мекарданд.

have you not seen how those who were forbidden to hold secret counsels yet revert to that which they were forbidden to do? and they conspire to indulge in wrongdoing, aggressive behaviour and disobedience to the messenger.
Оё онҳоро, ки аз наҷво манъ туда буданд, надидӣ, ки кореро, ки аз он манъ шуда буданд, аз сар гирифтанд ва боз ҳам барои гуноҳу душманӣ ва нофармонӣ аз паёмбар бо ҳам наҷво мекунанд?

after regaining his senses, moses said, "lord, you are all holy. i repent for what i asked you to do and i am the first to believe in you."
Чун ба хуш омад, гуфт: «Ту покӣ, ба Ту бозгаштам ва ман гахустини мӯъминонам».

"and follow the best of that which is sent down to you from your lord (i.e. this quran, do what it orders you to do and keep away from what it forbids), before the torment comes on you suddenly while you perceive not!"
