now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and pharisees came together unto pilate,

kaj herodo kaj liaj soldatoj malhonoris lin kaj mokis lin, kaj vestinte lin per brilaj vestoj, li resendis lin al pilato.
and herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to pilate.

kaj pilato denove lin demandis:cxu vi respondas nenion? vidu, pri kiom da aferoj oni vin akuzas.
and pilate asked him again, saying, answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee.

jesuo do eliris, portante la dornan kronon kaj la purpuran mantelon. pilato diris al ili:jen la homo!
then came jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. and pilate saith unto them, behold the man!

and straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him to pilate.

kaj pilato demandis lin:cxu vi estas la regxo de la judoj? kaj responde li diris al li:vi diras.
and pilate asked him, art thou the king of the jews? and he answering said unto him, thou sayest it.

kaj pilato ankaux skribis titolon, kaj surmetis gxin sur la krucon. kaj estis skribite:jesuo nazareta, la regxo de la judoj.
and pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. and the writing was, jesus of nazareth the king of the jews.

venis jozef el arimateo, honorinda konsilanto, kiu mem atendadis la regnon de dio; kaj li kuragxe eniris al pilato, kaj petis la korpon de jesuo.
joseph of arimathaea, and honourable counseller, which also waited for the kingdom of god, came, and went in boldly unto pilate, and craved the body of jesus.

tiam diris pilato al li:cxu vi ne parolas al mi? cxu vi ne scias, ke mi havas povon krucumi vin, kaj povon liberigi vin?
then saith pilate unto him, speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that i have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?

pilato do diris al ili:vi mem prenu lin, kaj jugxu lin laux via legxo. la judoj diris al li:ne estas permesate al ni mortigi homon;
then said pilate unto them, take ye him, and judge him according to your law. the jews therefore said unto him, it is not lawful for us to put any man to death:

pilato diris al li:kio estas la vero? kaj dirinte tion, li eliris denove al la judoj, kaj diris al ili:mi trovas en li nenian kulpon.
pilate saith unto him, what is truth? and when he had said this, he went out again unto the jews, and saith unto them, i find in him no fault at all.
