and while he yet spake with them, rachel came with her father's sheep: for she kept them.

a gospod videæi da jakov ne mari za liju, otvori njoj matericu, a rahilja osta nerotkinja.
and when the lord saw that leah was hated, he opened her womb: but rachel was barren.

a rahilja reèe: gospod mi je sudio i èuo glas moj, te mi dade sina. zato mu nadede ime dan.
and rachel said, god hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name dan.

a kad rahilja rodi josifa, reèe jakov lavanu: pusti me da idem u svoje mesto i u svoju zemlju.
and it came to pass, when rachel had born joseph, that jacob said unto laban, send me away, that i may go unto mine own place, and to my country.

potom pristupi i lija i deca njena, i pokloniše se; a najposle pristupi josif i rahilja, i pokloniše se.
and leah also with her children came near, and bowed themselves: and after came joseph near and rachel, and they bowed themselves.

a rahilja uze idole i sakri ih pod samar kamile svoje i sede ozgo; i lavan pipaše po celom šatoru, i ne nadje.
now rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel's furniture, and sat upon them. and laban searched all the tent, but found them not.

a rahilja videvši gde ne radja dece jakovu, pozavide sestri svojoj; i reèe jakovu: daj mi dece, ili æu umreti.
and when rachel saw that she bare jacob no children, rachel envied her sister; and said unto jacob, give me children, or else i die.

a ruvim izidje u vreme žetve pšeniène i nadje mandragoru u polju, i donese je liji materi svojoj. a rahilja reèe liji: daj mi mandragoru sina svog.
and reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother leah. then rachel said to leah, give me, i pray thee, of thy son's mandrakes.

jer kad se vratih iz padana, umre mi rahilja u zemlji hananskoj na putu, kad beše još malo do efrate; i pogreboh je na putu u efratu, a to je vitlejem.
and as for me, when i came from padan, rachel died by me in the land of canaan in the way, when yet there was but a little way to come unto ephrath: and i buried her there in the way of ephrath; the same is bethlehem.

a bogove svoje u koga nadješ, onaj neka ne živi više; pred našom braæom traži šta je tvoje u mene, pa uzmi. jer jakov nije znao da ih je ukrala rahilja.
with whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. for jacob knew not that rachel had stolen them.

ovako veli gospod: glas u rami èu se, naricanje i plaè veliki; rahilja plaèe za decom svojom, neæe da se uteši za decom svojom, jer ih nema.
thus saith the lord; a voice was heard in ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not.

i sav narod koji beše na vratima gradskim i starešine rekoše: svedoci smo; da da gospod da žena koja dolazi u dom tvoj bude kao rahilja i lija, koje obe sazidaše dom izrailjev; bogati se u efrati, i proslavi ime svoje u vitlejemu!
and all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, we are witnesses. the lord make the woman that is come into thine house like rachel and like leah, which two did build the house of israel: and do thou worthily in ephratah, and be famous in bethlehem:
