behold! he cried to his lord in secret,

na zakariya alipo mwita mola wake mlezi: mola wangu mlezi!
and (remember) zakariya (zachariah), when he cried to his lord: "o my lord!

anao marafiki wanao mwita ende kwenye uwongofu, wakimwambia: njoo kwetu!
he has companions who call him to the right way, (saying): come to us.

na ayyubu, alipo mwita mola wake mlezi, akasema: mimi yamenipata madhara.

tuwe kama ambao mashet'ani wamempumbaza katika ardhi, amebabaika? anao marafiki wanao mwita ende kwenye uwongofu, wakimwambia: njoo kwetu!
are we to turn upon our heels after god has guided us, like one who, beguiled by devils in the land, wanders bewildered, his companions calling him to the right path, saying, "come to us"?"
