said allah, “you are given respite.”
"daje ti se vremena!" – reče on.

allah said: 'you are granted respite.'
"daje ti se vremena!" – reče on.

(allah) said: "respite is granted thee
"daje ti se rok" – reče on –

allah said: "for sure you are granted respite
"daje ti se rok" – reče on –

and i respite them -- assuredly my guile is sure.
i davaću im vremena, obmana moja doista je trajna.

he said, “you are of those given respite.”
"daje ti se vremena!" – reče on.

and (for this purpose) i will grant them respite.
i puštam im.

(allah) said: "respite then is granted thee-
"dajem ti" – reče on –

and i shall respite them -- assuredly my guile is sure.
i pustiću im, uistinu, spletka moja je jaka.

and i grant them respite; surely my scheme is effective.
i davaću im vremena, obmana moja doista je trajna.

thereupon they will say, ‘shall we be granted any respite?’
pa će reći: "hoće li nam se imalo vremena dati?"

satan said, "give me respite until the day of resurrection,"
"daj mi vremena do dana njihova oživljenja!" – zamoli on.

(allah) said: "you are of those allowed respite."
"daje ti se vremena!" – reče on.

he said, "lord, grant me respite until the day of resurrection".
"gospodaru moj" – reče on – "daj mi vremena do dana kada će oni oživljeni biti!"

(allah) said: "be thou among those who have respite."
"daje ti se vremena!" – reče on.
