then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.

bamthabatha, bamphosa emhadini; umhadi lowo ube uze, kungekho manzi kuwo.
and they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.

bamrhola uyeremiya ngezintya, bamnyusa emhadini; uyeremiya wahlala entendelezweni yabalindi.
so they drew up jeremiah with cords, and took him up out of the dungeon: and jeremiah remained in the court of the prison.

and they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.

for indeed i was stolen away out of the land of the hebrews: and here also have i done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.

and reuben returned unto the pit; and, behold, joseph was not in the pit; and he rent his clothes.

hear me speedily, o lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest i be like unto them that go down into the pit.

bayekeni; ngabakhokeli beemfama abakwaziimfama; ke kaloku, xa sukuba imfama ikhokela imfama, zombini ziya kweyela emhadini.
let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. and if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

ke kaloku wathetha umzekeliso kubo, esithi, ingakhe ibe nako na imfama ukukhokela imfama? aziyi kuthi na zombini zeyele emhadini?
and he spake a parable unto them, can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?

ukhona uedom, ookumkani bakhe nezikhulu zakhe zonke, abathi benobugorha babekwa kwababuleweyo ngekrele; balala nabangalukileyo, nabehle baya emhadini.
there is edom, her kings, and all her princes, which with their might are laid by them that were slain by the sword: they shall lie with the uncircumcised, and with them that go down to the pit.

now when ebed-melech the ethiopian, one of the eunuchs which was in the king's house, heard that they had put jeremiah in the dungeon; the king then sitting in the gate of benjamin;

then the king commanded, and they brought daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. now the king spake and said unto daniel, thy god whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.

then took they jeremiah, and cast him into the dungeon of malchiah the son of hammelech, that was in the court of the prison: and they let down jeremiah with cords. and in the dungeon there was no water, but mire: so jeremiah sunk in the mire.

ukumkani wayalela, aziswa loo madoda ebemncethezile udaniyeli, bawajulela emhadini weengonyama, wona nabantwana bawo, nabafazi bawo; zaza, bengekafiki nokufika emzantsini womhadi, iingonyama zabagonyamela, zawacola onke amathambo abo.
and the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den.
