am i not better than this contemptible man who can hardly make his meaning clear:
Оё ман беҳтарам ё ин марди хори залил, ки дуруст сухан гуфтан натавонад?

am i (not) better than him who is contemptible, and cannot even express himself clearly?

and when your lord summoned the descendants of adam, and made them testify about themselves. “am i not your lord?”
Ва Парвардигори ту аз пушти банӣ-Одам фарзандонашро берун овард. Ва ононро бар худашон гувоҳ гирифт ва пурсид: «Оё Ман Парвардигоратон нестам?»

when your lord asked all the offspring of adam (before their birth), "am i not your lord?"

he said: woe unto me! am i not able to be as this raven and so hide my brother's naked corpse?

"am i not better than this (moses), who is a contemptible wretch and can scarcely express himself clearly?
Оё ман беҳтарам ё ин марди хори залил, ки дуруст сухан гуфтан натавонад?

and recall what time thy lord took from the children of adam their posterity from their backs, and made them testify as to them selves saying: am i not your lord?
Ва Парвардигори ту аз пушти банӣ-Одам фарзандонашро берун овард. Ва ононро бар худашон гувоҳ гирифт ва пурсид: «Оё Ман Парвардигоратон нестам?»

"alas!" he cried, "am i not able even to be like this raven, so that i may hide the corpse of my brother?"
Гуфт: «Вой бар ман, натавонам монанди ин зоғ бошам ва ҷасади бародарамро дафн кунам».

and when your lord brought forth from the children of adam, from their backs, their descendants, and made them bear witness against their own souls: am i not your lord?
Ва Парвардигори ту аз пушти банӣ-Одам фарзандонашро берун овард. Ва ононро бар худашон гувоҳ гирифт ва пурсид: «Оё Ман Парвардигоратон нестам?»

when your lord brings forth from their loins the offspring of the children of adam, he makes them witnesses over themselves, (and asks): "am i not your lord?"
Ва Парвардигори ту аз пушти банӣ-Одам фарзандонашро берун овард. Ва ононро бар худашон гувоҳ гирифт ва пурсид: «Оё Ман Парвардигоратон нестам?»

when your lord brought forth descendants from the loins of adam's children, and made them testify concerning themselves (he said): 'am i not your lord.'
Ва Парвардигори ту аз пушти банӣ-Одам фарзандонашро берун овард. Ва ононро бар худашон гувоҳ гирифт ва пурсид: «Оё Ман Парвардигоратон нестам?»

when your lord took from the children of adam, from their loins, their descendants and made them bear witness over themselves, [he said to them,] ‘am i not your lord?’
Ва Парвардигори ту аз пушти банӣ-Одам фарзандонашро берун овард. Ва ононро бар худашон гувоҳ гирифт ва пурсид: «Оё Ман Парвардигоратон нестам?»

"am i not better than this one [musa (moses)], who is mahin [has no honour nor any respect, and is weak and despicable] and can scarcely express himself clearly?
